"THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF EFFECTIVE WRITING:

USING FOCUS CORRECTION AREAS TO DEVELOP

STRONG, ERROR-FREE SENTENCES"

(Grades 2 to 12)

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

For teachers in grades 2 to 12 in all subject areas, curriculum coordinators, principals, supervisors, curriculum committee members, school-based management team members, and special educators.

This workshop is for all teachers, whether you use the Collins Writing ProgramSM, or not. You’ll discover the power of using Focus Correction Areas™ (FCAs) to help students become advanced writers. This workshop takes an in-depth look at “style” by concentrating on seven strategies for building clear, descriptive sentences. You’ll also discover what the “priority conventions” are and how to use FCAs to get your students to address them in their writing. As a result of attending this workshop, you’ll be fully equipped to bring the writing in your classroom alive--with fewer errors.
